What if you could redesign travel from scratch? Amtrak has. The railroad’s new approach to ticketing lets passengers board trains nationwide without a paper ticket, trades in conductors' ticket punches for smartphones, and streamlines inventory management  – all while traveling at up to 125 mph.

For more than 40 years, Amtrak has been America’s RailroadSM. But accounting for its paper-based tickets was time-consuming for conductors, inefficient for headquarters and inflexible for travelers – who were hard pressed to make last-minute changes.

AT&T worked with Amtrak to create an eTicketing solution complete with a new mobile application, mobile device management and wireless networking – that allows passengers the flexibility they desire.

Conductors' smartphones now connect to back-office systems and customers now can easily make and modify their plans. Allowing them to sit back and enjoy the ride.
